Bertie Headley, 37, passed away July 23, 2015, in Royse City.
He was born Nov. 13, 1977, in Batesville, Ark., to Lonnie Headley and
Diane Walters (Watson).
Bertie loved hunting, fishing, mudding, and most of all, prepping for
the zombie apocalypse he was sure would happen. But what brought Bertie
the most joy were his three children. Bertie loved helping people. He
would give someone the shirt off his back and not think twice. Bertie
loved helping people so much he donated his body to science so more
could be learned about his disease.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Those left to celebrate his life include his children, Nicholas, Jaden
and Lindzi; his mother, Diane Watson; step-mother Patee Headley Carey
and husband Eddie; sisters Kimberly Miller and husband Michael, Jesse
Headley and Amelia Watson; brothers Robert Headley, Hoss Headley and
wife Heather, and Micheal Headley; and numerous extended family and friends.
A private memorial service will be held for family and friends. A
celebration of life dinner will take place on July 30, at 6 p.m. at the
Tom Beene Center at 305 N. Houston Street in Royse City; this is open to
all who would like to attend.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a contribution to the
celebration of life dinner.
