Curtis Owen Gibbs, a lifelong resident of Royse City, passed away peacefully at his home on June 14, 2014, at the age of 88.
He was born Nov. 12, 1925, to David and Jody (Johnson) Gibbs. Curtis was a member of the First Baptist Church in Royse City and was a volunteer fireman for 30 years. He worked as a line foreman for TXU for many years and was always a farmer. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather who was devoted to his loved ones and will be dearly missed by them all.
Curtis is survived by his wife, Mozelle Gibbs; children Johnny Gibbs and wife Sandra, Shirley Goodwin and husband Connie, and Deb Rosebure and husband Rosie; grandchildren Bobby Gibbs, Bryan Gibbs, Grant Goodwin, Jennifer Goodwin, Dax Rucker and Bart Rosebure; and great-grandchildren Megan Rucker, Cody Gibbs and Zoe Rosebure.
Graveside services were held at 10:30 a.m., June 16, at Royse City Cemetery with Pastor Rick Donaho officiating. The family received friends at Rest Haven Funeral Home-Royse City Chapel June 15 from 6 to 8 p.m.
