Florentino's Story

Florentino Lopez De Leon, 79, of Royse City, Texas, passed away July 8, 2017.
He was born Oct. 16, 1937, in Miguel Negrete, Durango, Mexico, to Florentino Lopez and Elvira De Leon. Florentino enjoyed working as a farmer at Glynn Dodson, Inc. and was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Rockwall.
He is survived by his wife of almost 60 years, Petra Lopez; sons Victor Ruiz of Silver City, N.M., Ramiro Lopez of Royse City, Emiliano Lopez of Royse City, and Martin Lopez of Royse City; daughters Maria Armijo of Royse City, Elvira Garibay of Hays, Kan., Rosalva Guzman of Royse City, Nohemi Manley of Royse City, Alma Gutierrez of Durango, Mexico and Nancy Ramirez of Rockwall; sister Ipolita Aguirre of Farmers Branch, Texas; brother Roberto Lopez of Royse City; 29 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandson Johnny Armijo.
Funeral mass under the direction of Rest Haven Funeral Home-Rockwall Chapel will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, July 13, at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, 1305 Damascus Road, Rockwall with Father Gil Mediana officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends Wednesday evening at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m., with a Rosary at 7 p.m.
