Gary's Story

PALESTINE — Services for Gary Michael “Pappy” Oliver, 63, of Palestine will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Crockett Road Church of Christ with Dan Manuel officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Park.
Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster of Palestine.
Mr. Oliver died March 8, 2015, at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas.
He was born July 20, 1951, in Dallas to James and Arlene Scott Oliver. Mr. Oliver was an active member of the Crockett Road Church of Christ. He was a treasured member of Texas Top Guns. He built many homes in Anderson County.
Mr. Oliver was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Martha Oliver of Palestine; a daughter, Michelle Oliver of Wylie; a son, Michael Oliver and wife Christie of Royse City; a sister, Judy Welch and husband Jim of Plano; a brother, Wayne Oliver and wife Cindy of Garland; seven grandchildren, Jake Oliver, Maggie Oliver, Abby Spence, Stoney Spence, Blaine Klein, Jordan Welch and Cooper Adair.
Texas Top Gun Members will serve as pallbearers.
Condolence calls will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Bailey & Foster Funeral Home (903-729-2248).
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Texas Top Guns or to Crockett Road Church of Christ.
