Lula Mae Blackwood, 90, of Royse City, passed away Sept. 5, 2014.
She was born Jan. 16, 1924, in Forney, to George L. and Mattie Lou (Phellen) Davis. Mrs. Blackwood was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She had worked as the lead supervisor of Recognition Equipment, Inc.
Mrs. Blackwood is survived by her daughters, Janice Blackwood-McDonald and Susan Holbrook, both of Royse City; brother,: Donald Davis of Houston; sister: Linda Berry of Brownwood; grandchildren, Carla and Stanley Phifer of Farmersville, Marti and Dale Shannon of Royse City, Bevee Spears of McKinney, Taffi Watkins of Royse City, Candice and Pete Jordan of Quinlan, Treacena and Naveen Myneni; 18 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, B.V. Blackwood; brothers, Mickey, James and Melvin Davis; sisters, Mary Pauline Gregory and Leona Weaver; and great-grandson Christian Evans.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Sept. 13, 2014, at Rest Haven Funeral Home - Rockwall Chapel with Jerry McGuinn and Al Clark officiating. Interment was at 12 p..m at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens in Irving.
The family received friends at the funeral home Friday from 6 to 8 p.m.
