Ouida Ruth Baley, “Miss Ouida,” 64, of Royse City passed away Feb. 17, 2014.
She was born Dec. 23, 1949, in Dallas to Clifford and Mary Hazel (Craig) Howell. Ouida was retired from Royse City High School where she was a teacher’s aide and bus driver for 33 years. She had a great love for children and started “Wonderful Wednesdays With Ouida.”
Ouida served on many programs and committees such as Meals on Wheels, where she served for 35 years and participated in the JAM program, (Jesus and Me) at First United Methodist Church of Royse City, where she was a member.
Ouida’s love of children led her to become a foster parent. All of Royse City will miss her sweet smile and bubbly personality.
She is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Jerrell Baley of Royse City; sons Michael Baley and wife Dana of Royse City and Patrick Baley and wife Misty of Rowlett; a sister, Fraya Fisk and husband Paul of Royse City; twin brother Butch Howell and wife Donna of Royse City; grandchildren William, Jackson, Adyn and Kal; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and all the “Steel Magnolias.”
Ouida was preceded in death by her parents.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Feb. 22, in the Royse City High School auditorium, 700 S. FM 2642, Royse City, with Pastor Tim Marks and Bro. Dan Bruce officiating.
