Paul Tressler, 58, died peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Jan. 16, 2015.
He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He will be forever missed by his family and friends.
Paul was born Aug. 29, 1956, in Dallas. He graduated from McKinney High School and was active in Boy Scouts in McKinney, Troop 303, where he earned his Eagle Scout rank in 1971. He met his wife, Mary Lou, in 1990 and they married in 1994. Paul, Mary Lou and her beautiful daughter, Marissa, lived in McKinney. In 1995 they welcomed their beloved son Zachary into the family. Paul had worked at GMR Protection Resources for the last nine years. His co-workers at GMR have shown incredible compassion and concern during his illness.
Paul is survived by his father, Samuel Donald Tressler Jr. of North Little Rock, Ark.; wife Mary Lou of Royse City; daughter Marrisa McElyea of Cabot, Ark.; son Zachary Tressler of Royse City; a grandson, Jon-Haydn McElyea, and granddaughter Julia McKee of Cabot, Ark., a sister, Carolyn Elaine Tressler Bixby and husband David of North Little Rock, Ark.; and brother Samuel Donald Tressler III and wife Cindy of San Antonio.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Carolyn Freeman Tressler; his stepmother, Helen Chancellor Tressler and his stepbrother, Gary L. Chancellor.
Paul’s sparkling wit, his incredible zest for life and his protective and fierce love for his family make his death especially difficult for all who knew him. But they all take comfort knowing that they will see him again one day. Rest in peace, Paul.
Services will be held at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 20. Family visitation was Jan. 19 from 6 to 8 p.m. with a Rosary recited at 7 p.m.
