Services for Paulette “Polly” B. Rhodes, of Royse City, were held Jan. 7, 2014, at Anderson-Clayton Bros. Chapel in Kemp, with Dr. Robert A. Wheat officiating.
Interment followed the service at King Cemetery.
Polly was born in Kaufman, on June 30, 1950, to Paul Joseph and Willie Marie (Henson) Balajka, and entered into eternal rest on Jan. 2, 2014, at the age of 63. Polly loved her family and had a strong faith. She had a passion for fishing, playing the organ and singing. Polly enjoyed reading her Bible and cooking for her family. She loved watching her soaps, traveling and going out to eat. Polly attended Kemp schools. She worked at the Rockwall Wal-Mart for 28 years, became a department manager, and received numerous “Outstanding Employee Awards” during her employment. She even had the opportunity to meet Sam Walton, founder of Wal-Mart, on several occasions. She was a “Bapticostal” by faith and attended the Poetry Baptist Church, where she would sing with her husband Lavelle. Polly was a den mother for Cub Scouts. She enjoyed caring for her family and anyone who needed her. Polly was a loving and loved lady who will be missed by all who knew her.
Polly was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband, Lavelle Rhodes of Royse City; sons, Anthony Collard of Kemp, Matt Rhodes and wife Jennifer of Royse City, Jason Rhodes and wife Shelly of Garland, Paul Joseph (Jody) Rhodes and wife Savannah of Cleburne; daughter Amy Rigsby and husband Mark of Bowie; two grandsons, five granddaughters; sisters, Sharon King Aslin of Kaufman, Carron King of Arlington, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members and many loving friends.
