Rachel Elizabeth Silva, 24, of Mesquite passed away Sept. 28, 2013, in Dallas.
She was born Oct. 7, 1988, in Lyons, Kan. Rachel was a member of the Church of Christ and worked as a restaurant hostess.
She is survived by her parents, Laura (Votaw) Meredith and fiancé Gregory Cooper of Mesquite and Servando Silva and wife Gracy of Dilley; sisters Rebecca Nicole Silva and Cierra Meredith of Mesquite and Crystal Rodriguez of Dilley; a brother, David Orlando Silva of Dilley; grandparents Jesus and Mary Padilla of Royse City and Joan Votaw of Miami, Okla.; nephew Michael Hardin Jr. of Royse City; uncles Fernando Silva and family, Jessie and Veronica Padilla and family, Robert Votaw and wife Tania and family, and Scott Votaw and wife Kelly and family; and an aunt, Kelly Brunner and husband Todd and family.
Rachel was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Robert Votaw and Johnny Silva.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Oct. 2, at Rest Haven Funeral Home–Rockwall Chapel with Mark Faust officiating. Interment followed in Royse City Cemetery.
