Steven Paul Pennington, also known as “Mammaw,” originally from Royse
City, passed away Wednesday, July 22, 2015, at the age of 56.
He was born Aug. 25, 1958, in Dallas to Robert Neal and Rogene
(Williams) Pennington. Steve was raised in Royse City, enjoyed model
railroading and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. He had a successful
career as a microchip designer for Texas Instruments, compiling a
significant professional portfolio for Apple Computers. Steve was a
loving husband, son, father and grandfather and attended First Christian
Church of Royse City.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 33 years, Christel (Meister)
Pennington of Salchendorf, Germany; children Mark Burns and wife Rita of
Allen, Darren Burns and wife Lisa of McKinney, and Stephanie Hobson and
husband Kris of Killeen; grandchildren Steven, Baylee and Zachary Burns
and Kolby and Kailey and Kooper Hobson; brother Leslie Pennington; his
mother, Rogene Pennington; and many other loving relatives and friends.
Steve was preceded in death by his father.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Monday, July 27, at First
Christian Church, 203 N. Arch Street, Royse City, with Pastor Kris Jones
officiating. Interment followed at the Royse City Cemetery.
