Elsie Carolyn Rogers Wood Obituary

Elsie Carolyn (Rogers) Wood, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, age 91, of Royse City, Texas passed away February 8, 2025. She was born on December 3, 1933, in Honey Grove, Texas to Elsie (Reeder) and George Rogers.

Carolyn is survived by her daughters, Kay (Wood) Moore and her husband, Rick, of Garland, Texas and Dru (Wood) Amand and her husband, Mark, of Lititz, Pennsylvania; her five grandchildren, Paige Davis and her husband, Garrett, and Kimberly Wilhite and her husband, Trevor, Reid Amand and his fiancé, Katie, Jeff Amand and his fiancé, Gina, and Clinton Amand and his wife, Linda; and her six great-grandchildren, Cole, Ryan, Taylor, Hailey, Colton, and Collyns.

Carolyn was an active member of Royse City Methodist Church and was a frequent visitor to the Royse City Senior Center where she shared laughter, fellowship, and a good meal with friends.

Family meant everything to Carolyn. Her love was often displayed in the many hand-made quilts, afghans, and baby blankets she gifted to family. Carolyn kept up to date on current events and could discuss almost any subject with anyone. She was a proud Texan, often found sitting on her front porch enjoying a good glass of iced tea. Carolyn will be deeply missed.

A Memorial Service will be held Monday, March 24, at 10 a.m. in Royse City Methodist Church Wesley Hall.
